Today the United Stats says that North Korea has refused to accept any further food aid supplies. The UN World Food Programme says that approximately there are nine million of people in North Korea that are in need of food aid. But the dictatorial govern of North Korea refused the food aid. Some people criticize that North Korea has nine million of people that are in need of food aid and the government is planning to launch a satellite, which some fear is a cover for testing long-range missile technology.
There are five non-governmental organisations that distributing food in North Korea. Under a deal reached in June last year, the US agreed to distribute 500,000 metric tonnes of food to North Korea - 400,000 through the UN World Food Programme and the rest through NGOs. Ms Portella that is one of spokeswoman of the groups affected by the decision to stop the accepting food aid said that North Korea was still suffering from “rampant malnutrition” and North Korea needs to accept food aid.
